Since 1977, Hospice of the Conejo has been a beacon of dignity and care for our community, offering unwavering support through life’s most profound challenges.

Our primary purpose is to provide non-medical care, guidance, companionship and dignity to residents in our region as they face challenges with their own life-limiting illness and grief, or that of a loved one.

All services are provided completely free of charge. 100% of our funding is raised through private donations, fundraising events and grants.

Our service area is southeast Ventura County and a small portion of LA County. We serve Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Newbury Park, Oak Park, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Simi Valley and Moorpark, and surrounding communities.

As a non-medical hospice, we are uniquely positioned to provide support outside the constraints of Medicare and insurance. Our specially trained volunteers can assist patients and their families before a six-month prognosis is made and no physician referral is required for our services.

Our Grief Support Center facilitates 50+ therapist-led bereavement groups every month . . . always at no charge. We help people of all ages and all walks of life including seniors who have lost their spouse of many decades, adults of all ages, young parents who have lost a child, teens and children who have lost a loved one, a bilingual workshop for our Spanish-speaking residents and a group for people who are suffering the loss of their beloved pet.

Our NODA (No One Dies Alone) program provides volunteers who sit vigil 24/7 with patients who are in their final hours of life and would otherwise die alone because loved ones are unable to be there.

Our Lending Closet provides essential medical equipment (e.g. walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs, commodes, etc.) and personal hygiene products completely free of charge. This service can save families dealing with grief or crisis thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs. We also accept new and used equipment.

We operate as an education center providing general information and guidance to persons confronted with end-of-life challenges. We provide referrals to trusted medical hospice and skilled-nursing providers.
